MR. MORUF ADEMOLA ADEGBITE

Morufu Ademola Adegbite is a seasoned statistician and public sector professional with over two decades of experience in the public service. He currently serves as the Director of Statistics, Grade Level 17, a position he assumed on 1 July 2026. He has also served as the Head of Planning, Research and Statistics (PRS) since 2021. Mr. Adegbite commenced his public service career on 1 March 2000 as a Statistician I, Grade Level 08, and was confirmed in his appointment on 1 March 2002. Over the years, he has progressed through the public service, gaining valuable experience in statistics, planning, research, and related administrative functions. He holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Statistics, obtained from the University of Ilorin, Kwara State, in 1998. He also obtained a Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) from the Osun State College of Education, Ila Orangun, in 1992. His other academic qualifications include the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) and the First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC). In furtherance of his professional development, Mr. Adegbite obtained certification from the Chartered Institute of Statisticians of Nigeria in 2025, with registration number 2025-00101. His academic training and professional certification complement his extensive practical experience in statistical practice and public sector management. As Head of Planning, Research and Statistics, he has been involved in functions relating to organisational planning, research, and statistical activities. His subsequent appointment as Director of Statistics represents a significant milestone in his career and reflects his years of professional service and experience.
