Engr. Akinyele Maryam Sedoten Bolanle is a seasoned Computer Engineer, ICT Administrator, and Public Sector Technology Leader with over twenty-five years of progressive experience in information and communication technology, systems administration, network infrastructure, digital transformation, and ICT governance within the Lagos State Public Service. She has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership in designing, implementing, and managing technology solutions that improve operational efficiency, enhance public service delivery, and support government digital transformation initiatives. Currently serving as the Head of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Unit at the Lagos State Public Procurement Agency (LSPPA), Engr. Akinyele provides strategic leadership for the Agency’s ICT operations, ensuring the availability, security, and reliability of technology infrastructure that supports electronic procurement, business automation, and efficient public procurement processes. Since assuming this role in January 2026, she has continued to drive technology-enabled service delivery while strengthening ICT governance across the Agency. Prior to joining LSPPA, she held several strategic ICT leadership positions within the Lagos State Government, including Head of Infrastructure Design, Installation, Maintenance and Power Unit, Head of IT Assets and Supplier Management Unit at the Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology, and Head of ICT Units at the Lagos State New Towns Development Authority, the Office of the Secretary to the State Government (Cabinet Office), and the Office of the Chief of Staff. These appointments reflect a distinguished career built on technical excellence, administrative competence, and effective leadership across multiple Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs). Her professional expertise spans ICT infrastructure planning, systems administration, network architecture, data centre administration, cloud computing, systems integration, cybersecurity, ICT procurement planning, database administration, hardware maintenance, end-user support, and enterprise technology management. She has successfully managed the deployment, maintenance, and optimization of critical ICT infrastructure while providing strategic advice on technology investments, digital innovation, and business process automation. As an ICT leader, Engr. Akinyele has played a significant role in ensuring uninterrupted technology services across government establishments by coordinating ICT operations, supervising infrastructure maintenance, managing network connectivity, overseeing software deployment, and ensuring effective monitoring of ICT consultants and vendors. She has also provided strategic guidance on ICT budgeting, procurement of technology assets, and implementation of secure and reliable digital solutions that align with government objectives. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated strong leadership in managing multidisciplinary teams, coordinating ICT projects, and promoting technology-driven innovation within the public sector. Her ability to combine technical expertise with strategic management has enabled her to successfully support organizational transformation initiatives while improving operational performance and service delivery. Academically, Engr. Akinyele holds a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Systems Engineering from the University of Lagos and a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Electronics and Computer Engineering from Lagos State University. She further strengthened her professional competence by earning the internationally recognized Certified Wireless Network Administrator (CWNA) certification. She is a registered member of the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) and belongs to several prestigious professional bodies, including the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and the Nigeria Computer Society (NCS). Her professional affiliations reflect her commitment to engineering excellence, continuous professional development, and adherence to global best practices in information technology and engineering. Engr. Akinyele has attended numerous professional workshops, conferences, retreats, and capacity-building programmes throughout her career, ensuring that her knowledge remains aligned with emerging technologies, evolving ICT standards, and contemporary public sector governance practices.
