Mr. Wasiu Kayode Onawoga, an indigene of Shagamu, Ogun State, was born in Ejigbo, Lagos State. He obtained his Advanced Level School Certificate from the Lagos State University.
Mr. Onawoga also attended the University of Lagos, Akoka where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Relations and Personnel Management. Similarly, he holds a Master of Business Administration degree of the Lagos State University, Ojo, which he obtained in year 2000.
He began his career with the Nigerian Bottling Company, bottlers of Coca- Cola and allied products in 1990. While with the company, he was privileged to have served in different capacities, including sales and marketing management, warehouse/ logistics management which culminated in his appointment as Commercial Manager (Sales and Marketing) for the Kaduna Plant where he serviced the Kaduna, Zaria, Suleja, Minna and Abuja Sales Territory.
Mr. Onawoga later moved to the Public Service in 2012 when he was employed as an Assistant Chief Procurement Officer, Grade Level 13 by the Lagos State Government.
He served as Head, Internal Procurement, before he was later appointed as Head, Procurement Department of the Agency in January 2018. He is one of the in-house trainers of Procurement Officers in the Lagos State Public Service. A member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS), United Kingdom, Mr. Onawoga is the author of Fundamental Principles and Emerging Trends in Public Procurement, a book that is widely read by Procurement professionals in the Public Service of Lagos State as well as those of other States and Federal Institutions across Nigeria and beyond.
