LAGOS STATE GOVERNMENT INAUGURATES STATE PROCUREMENT AGENCY BOARD

A cross section of the 7-member Board of the Lagos State Procurement Agency.

Lagos State Government has inaugurated the Lagos State Public Procurement Agency Board with the sworing inn of the members of the Board by His Excellency Governor of Lagos State Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode at Lagos House Council Chamber Alausa Ikeja.

The 7-member Board of the Lagos State Public Procurement Agency include the Honourable Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning Mr. Akinyemi Ashade as the  Chairman of the Board,  the Honourable Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General Lagos State Ministry of Justice Mr,Adeniji Kazeem , the General Manager Lagos State Public Procurement Agency Mr. Fatai Idowu Onafowote and Omobola  Omotimirin Secretary of the Board, other members  are Mr. Bolaji  Miftah Are a Financial expert, Mrs, Elizebeth Iyabo Ladipo Legal Practitioner and Mr. Ayo Adebusoye also  a Legal Practitioner were all on the Board of Lagos State Public Procurement Agency.

During the inauguration of the Board at the state Executive Chamber, the Governor of Lagos State Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode challenged the members of the Board to expectation and the confidence repose on the individual members as core professionals in their respective professional calling to maintained high level of professionalism and ensured that due process are follow in the execution of state Government projects and programmes, so that the state will have value for money in all the state public expenditures for the benefits of the citizens that in Government is in the office to service.

He added that the new members of the Board should ensure that there is accountability and probity in the management of state resources and safe cost for the state Government in order to achieve the basic objectives of Public Procurement in line with International best practices, which is the reason while the state Government adopted public Procurement processes in all the state expenditures since the inception of the present administration.

He further stated that the members of Board of Lagos State Public Procurement Agency should maintained cordial relationship with all the Ministries, Departments and Agencies of the state government for development and progress of the state so that all infrastructural projects of the state will be executed within the frame time for the execution of the project and the case of abandonment of public projects will be minimized to the bearable level, if possible all the state projects will be completed within the completion period.
